DEATH PARTY LATE SUMMER 2012 INTERNAL MEMO
TO WANDER FREELY WITH THIS CRUEL FOOL’S BURDEN
For info on photos on/of all releases, go to: http://deathpartyrecords.bigcartel.com
Current releases:
Prescription Pills – White Rose 7” (DPR-002)
            A1. Flowers
            B1. Regrets
            B2. Wingèd Victory
Brooding synth-pop from Portland gloomkin & close friend of DPR Cole Browning. His first vinyl release! These songs kick ass. I love them. Also I play guitar with Prescription Pills live sometimes.
WL – Impermanent b/w No Escape 7” (DPR-003)
A.   Impermanent
B.    No Escape

Forget that WL’s bassist, Misty, plays in Blouse or WL’s guitarist, Michael, plays in Houndstooth (both excellent Portland bands), WL fill up all spaces with their own world. Drawing equally from the thrash of Loveless-era My Bloody Valentine, the ethereal beauty of Four Calendar Café-era Cocteau Twins, and the slow drowning of Slowdive and Ride, WL manage to create their own world of stark and stunning beauty. Easily a contender for single of the year.

First 100 Prescription Pills records on pink vinyl, first 100 WL records on teal vinyl. Prescription Pills and WL jackets custom silk screened by our new best friends Golden Rule Design.

THESE RECORDS WILL SHIP THIS & NEXT WEEK. THERE WAS A DELAY AT THE PLANT WITH COLORED VINYL, BUT EVERYTHING’S IN NOW!

Coming soon:

Yung Life – Yung Life LP (DPR-004)

Physical release of Yung Life’s first full-length album, already out digitally. These Knoxville synth-rockers will knock your socks off (and probably your pants too) with their sweet jams, melody-packed melodies, and thumping shake-n-move groove. 500 copies, first 100 on waxy green.

Also coming soon:
Records from Joanna Gruesome, Gold-Bears, Tawny Owl, & Heathers.
Still available:

Surf Club – Young Love EP

So we more or less sold out of the first 100 (50 white & 50 black, give or take) Surf Club records. These had janky jackets that I silk-screened on some pretty shitty equipment with the help of a few friends. So, for the remaining records I decided to upgrade a bit and get a professional silk-screener to do the jackets. And they look fucking wonderful. Adam from Golden Rule (who also did WL and Prescription Pills jackets) is a master. The new jackets will be sold for the same price as the old ones. White vinyl is still available for all mail-order records while supplies last!
